Clemson Bioinformatics Center

Welcome to Clemson Bioinformatics Center!

We work on solving biological problems through data mining, statistical learning, algorithmic computation, computational modeling, evolution and population analysis, data integration, and visualization tool development. Our team is a result of synergy of molecular biology, computer science, mathematics, and statistics. The major theme is to study and integrate and the enormous quantities of gene expressions, molecular interaction data, DNA sequences (including SNPs and non-coding RNAs), protein structures, and proteomic MS data that are being generated by large-scale genomic projects and other molecular biology efforts. Bioinformatics tools are developed to reveal fundamental mechanisms underlying biological problems related to the structure and function of macromolecules, biochemical pathways, disease processes, and genome evolution. The major activities and the faculty involved are:
  • Algorithmic computation & Parallel Computation
  • Biological Pathways and Networks
  • Computational Biology & Modeling
  • Data mining & Statistical Learning
  • Databases and Tools
  • Evolution & Population Genomics
  • Microarray Analysis
  • Structural Genomics & Macromolecular Modeling
  • Systems Biology
